All-
I noticed some of the 700-750hp Power packages from tuners recommend an upgraded clutch with the manual tranny, but nothing for a Tip S tranny? How much power can the Tip handle before you run into issues? Does anyone offer Tip upgrades for lots of power?

Also, at the end of the day, is it true that the Tip S tranny in a 997TT will accelerate faster than a manual?
Thx.

tip is pretty strong and can handle a $hitload of torque, same unit in the turbo benz cars I believe.

upgrading the clutch only required +700 on wheel coz the tranny clutch will start slipping.

No problem with 700/740hp upgraded turbos kits on tip cars

Because the maunal come with 6 gears and tip only 5 gears.

tip has better gear ratio to accle. before 100mph,also changing gear faster than your hand anyway...but after 3rd gear over 100mph you need more power to push the car.Tip normally lost more power from the tranny so manual will catch up with the better gear ratio from 4th-6th.That why porsche claims the top speed is higher for manual car.
