Bugatti Veyron Sports Exhaust
Bugatti Veyron Sports Exhaust
With 1001 BHP and a top speed of over 250 mph (400 kph) the Bugatti Veyron is billed as the ultimate Sports car, with the biggest numbers.
But does the W16 engine have the sound too match?
QuickSilver's client's don't think so. So we set about to produce a ‘Sports’ Exhaust system that provided a more appropriate sound for the 8.0 quad-turbocharged W16 Veyron.
The QuickSilver system has a weight of 11.6 kilos (25.5 lbs) saving 7.4 kilos (16 lbs) and is constructed from highly polished stainless steel to improve the aesthetic look of the car when the spoiler is raised.

Why not use titanium? Much lighter, and the only drawback is a price increase. Something tells me that the individual who is unsatisfied with their stock Veyron probably isn't penny pinching.

Yes you are right the factory exhaust was titanium but it was no lightweight.
We have used thin gauge stainless on our system which shaved 5kg (11lbs) off the weight.
We can produce it in titanium or Inconel for a cost.

that's great to hear.
I've never heard of an inconel exhaust before. Would you use inconel 625? Any disadvantages vs Titanium?
edit: a quick google search reveals that inconel is not uncommon in race cars (including formula 1), for their exhaust systems!

Yes Inconel is almost unvirsally used in the top end of motorsport and in aerospace. We produce a number of systems in Inconel including our current Ferrari F430 and the Porsche 997 Turbo system currently being offered by GMG in California, elsewhere on this forum.
