2009 e350 V1 hardwire..is there a quick easy way?

Hey guys, I'm leaving for a trip tomorrow and want to take the Valentine out of my S2000 to put in the E350, but don't want to use the cig lighter plug with the coiled cord...is there a quick and simple way to hardwire the V1 up in the upper console area? Or any other quick install? Please let me know...or I guess I could live with the exposed cord for a couple of days.
Thanks, Dan

there really isnt any "Quick simple way" because you would have to splice into a main electrical line (say for a light etc) and then maybe make a quick disconnect switch, It can be done but with the time frame your talking about its kinda unrealistic unless you commit the rest of the night to the project and have all the hardware already there and also have a intricate knowledge of the the E350/S2000.

The S2000 hardwire took about 30 minutes, I was kinda hoping the E wouldn't take too much longer. I've hardwired about 6-8 cars, none taking more than about an hour. I have a 2nd hardwire cord for the V1 so I won't have to remove anything from the S2000. But seems as though it may be more involved than I want to mess with for this trip, unless there truely is a quick and easy way. I have worked at the Infiniti dealer here in Cincinnati for 9+ years so I know how cars in general come apart for the interiors, didnt know if there was anything special on the E.

Well I mean, its like any premium car, they have computers even for the lighting. I mean you seem pretty handy and with the 9+ years in Infiniti you most likely could do it. Just depends on if you do want to spend 2-3 hours on it

Have you checked the MB forums? Most of them will likely have a DIY on this. As with most of these Europeans, there's usually a 'hot wire' in the dome light cluster. Just need to find out which wire that is and what others are using for an accessible ground.
