Launching from a stop

My search didn't really bring up anything so I thought I'd ask the forum.

What's the best way to launch these things from a stop?

I know these aren't drag racing cars but I'd like to eventually get down to the 1/4 mile at Pacific Raceways and see what she can do. With a RWD car, launching is pretty straight forward. Rev it up a bit and let the clutch out pretty fast. The rear breaks loose a little and off ya go. Now, with AWD, I'm worried that I'm going to stall it. What's the typical rpm that these cars are launched at? Keep in mind that I have a Stage 3 clutch so there is very little slip. Anybody ever snap an axle or driveshaft launching or are these cars built pretty well for occasional drag racing?

my old C4s I ran at the track. I was doing 4000 - 5000 dumps with the traction control off. The car did Great, launched as if it was a rubber band.
I never smelled clutch, never had any problem with it. The car was solid. Another reason I went back into a 911 C4S... "Solid"

with a stock clutch i would say do not launch it, however since you seem to have the racing clutch a few launches shouldnt hurt.

anyway, here is a 40 post thread discussing launching the 997tt

Both tip and manual can hold hard launches, now if you do this continueslly then yes you will brake something.

It depends on power level of your car also
