Updated: Suspension noise, Ksport dampers

I have had the last couple of weeks had a "clunk" noise in my car when driving slow and over bumps.

Jacked up my car and checked the drop links, and they are fine.
But i noticed something suspicious.

This is on the front crossmember, check out the second image for location.
It seems that there has been some movement there.
And i guess this means i need to recheck the wheel alignment.
But most important now is to stop the movement, so does anyone know the torque for this?

Reading the repair manual i see this:
Control arm
Location Thread Tightening torque Nm (ftlb.)
Control arm on side member M12 x 1.5 120 (89)
Control arm on diagonal arm M14 x 1.5 160 (118)
Control arm on wheel carrier
(Ball joint) M12 x 1.5 75 (56)

Is there any of these values correct for the bolt on the picture?

I checked the drop links, and they all seemed fine.
Then i marked all the bolts to see if there was any movement, and took the car for a test drive.

No bolts have moved even though i heard the "clunk" several times.

Since i have 19inches that eats the inner wheel fenders can this be the source?
I mean.. i hear a rubbing sound from the wheels when the wheel rubs against the plastic, but not sure if this is the source of the "clunk".

Any suggestions are appreciated..

After alot of trying and testing it seems that its the top rubber mount on my rear right K-sport damper that has failed!

Has anyone ordered spare parts for their k-sport dampers before?
With the failing rubber can i still drive the car?

I'd be careful about driving it. The last thing you want is further damage and it sounds like you've got metal on metal contact somewhere occurring multiple times every drive :-O

yes, you can drive it, but treat it with the knowledge you have a failing suspension component and one that will be replaced shortly, ( as in do NOT wait ) and drive ( slowly ) accordingly.

Its probably a drop link. They do not cost much so just change both. Drop links wear out and it funny how much noise these things can make.

Today i took out the damper and gave it a good cleanup, the problem turned out to be a loose nut on the top mount, the rubber was fine.

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions i got!

when i changed my suspension to lowering springs, i found upper mounts busted, bearings busted, and 1 link. Replaced everything, now its quiet. I dont hear any noises on small bumps, and feels more tight.
