BBI built 3.8L 996TT 1000WHP

About 6 months ago I floated a valve and caused piston damage to my motor. I had the car sent into BBI for inspection and rebuild. Upon opening of the motor left bank pistons and sleeves were shot, along with heads, lifters etc. After carefully inspecting all other components, it was determined that the boring for my studs were miss aligned do to incompetent machinist from my first build back in 2012/2013. As a result the case had sustain a hair line fracture and needed replacement. We got all the new parts and went to work.

Jared @ BBI, worked his magic and got everything put together and back into the car. At the time I was running on Alpha 28's which put out 851whp and 857 ft lb at 30PSI. Ofcourse like many, i wanted more power especially on top. Betim, recommended stepping upto their custom designed Tial/Xona GT3082 turbos. I finally got the chance to take my car back onto the dyno in Chatsworth CA @ Specialty Z.

Probably not the best day to dyno the car, but I did it anyways. The conditions were 103 degree temperature around 4 pm in Southern California. I was running Q16 with 100% meth at a minimal spray pattern for cooling.

The results:

35.5 PSI boost, 1008whp and Max Torque of 850. I am very please with these results and am looking forward to laying it down on the runway.

Thanks guys. The goal was to hit 1,000-1,100 whp and not lose too much spool. Plus I didn't want to go through another round of expense for new exhaust, headers and external wastegates to step up to HTA 3586's. The 3082 were pretty much my best option with minimal change to my existing setup.

Is it full boost at 5000rpm?
Sound like your are using .82 or bigger turbine housing

Full boost before 5k more like 4750 RPM on normal weather conditions. yes it is a .82 AR. Working on getting that RPM down...
