Exclamation 997.1/997.2 - Please Explain The Codes

What does the 997.1, 997.2 mean? Is there a 997.3 and when will there be a 997.4?

Obviously they are versions indicating new releases, but where does one end and where does the other begin?

Are the codes the same for all, i.e., GT2, GT2RS, GT3, GT3RS, etc., etc? Or is it different for each issue?

Andddd, are there also 996.1`s? 996.2`s? .3`s

Help a new guy out if you will. I have searched, however, I came up with no discernible information.

Thanks in advance.

For the Turbos 997.1 TT = model years 2007-2009. 997.2 TT = model years 2010 thereafter. No .3 or .4 I believe the major difference between .1 and .2 is the newer DFI engine and intro of PDK.

I guess you would really have to know the model changes then, yes? Changes to the tail lens, slight body flairs or lines, etc. So, it only applies to the Turbo's and no other designations?

Not just turbos - that's what I'm most familiar with and you asked the question in the turbo forum.
