HPA Turbo R32 Wide Body/Color Change & Performance Enhancement Poject

Hello Everyone,

I recently aquired new VW Poject. I always wanted to take a great platform and try to make it better and at the same time add my own flavor to it and share it with other enthusiasts. So here it is. The car is a 2004 VW .:R32 and it came with an HPA "Black Jack" turbo kit installed. The clutch had been upgraded but it was shot. For suspension it had Bilstein Sports and Neuspeed Springs and some Porsche "Lobster Fork" Wheels and stock size brakes. The front and rear seats had been swapped for some 20th Recaros but will be installing custom Recaro Sportster CS's. I have already installed KW Coilovers, Brembo 6 pot fronts, drilled rear rotors and hawk pads and SS lines and H&R sway bars front and rear. I will start posting some pictures tomorrow when I can. For now here are a few.

The first few weeks of the project I replaced the factory head gaskets but retained the HPA Head Spacer, and replaced the OEM Head Studs with Raceware Head Studs as we found some coolant and oil mixture and some oil leaks down the side of the motor all the way down the skid plate. I always had a billet ECS tuning crack pipe installed while we had the head off. The VF Engineering dog bone mount bushings were shot so I replaced the entire mount and the transmission, and side engine mount with VF Mounts. While we were installing the Brembos and the KW V3 Coilovers I replaced both tie rod ends and all 4 wheel bearings as well.

Below is the beginning of the wide body project/color change and installing upgraded front and rear differentials so first things first was to remove the engine/transmission and gut the engine bay. as well as remove the rear diff housing.

Part of this project is that I am also replacing the entire interior with a combo of leather and suede. I had the air bag cover removed as part of the process of getting this wrapped as well as the dash seats center console etc....

This is also a little more than a wide body project. Previous owner for some reason I have yet to figure out why, but he put 20th anniversary seats in the front and back so those are coming out. OEM R32 rears will be going back in and I've ordered Recaro Sportser CS Seats and the whole interior is getting replaced such as the floor carpet and headliner, everything is getting re-upholstered to follow this theme from this X6m.

Who wants to see some paint!

These are shots of the second of the three stage Porsche White Pearl. Last stage is being applied as we speakers and should be ready for final inspection next week. From there its back to the shop to get it up and running again with the dash installed. Then the dynamat is getting installed with new speaks and head unit. Then its off to the interior shop to get the new diamond stitched leather floor put in along with all the door panels seats and headliner. All in time before Southern Worthersee!

Wowww. I've been looking at those R32's lately and now I don't think I could ever get one if it didn't look like that
