Z06 vs M5 in handling is there a big difference?

Hey guys, so both me and my brother have been debating this and I know that a corvette Z06 or ar1 will beat a M5 in the corners at the track but for general handling on the streets will there be a major difference in the feel? My bro is saying that difference in feel is like going from a Mazda MPV to a M5 but honestly it seems like a M5 can handle pretty good.

Thanks!

The biggest difference between the two that you will notice handling on the street is the ZO6's low center of gravity and light weight.

Even though the M5 is a superbly handling car you will notice more body roll and the BMW will feel heavier and less agile... This is just my opinion from driving both, and it is all relative too, as like I said, the BMW is no slouch in the corners.... I doubt the difference would be as evident if you did not drive them back to back.

as a past c6/z06 owner that put 50k on one i dont know how to answer the question. my z did road courses, drag strips and street racing. when you have car swith this much torque its up to the drivers. i have not driven the bimmer. as for the corvettes which i have had a few YOU MUST LEARN TO TRUST THE CHASSIS. it is not easy to do. the z,s behave like normal car until you push them .they will bite a novice. for the money you cant go wrong with the new corvettes

what do you mean handle? handle in DD duties? handle like a toy in the back roads?

which m5 are you referring to? e39? e60? f5?

too many unknowns to give you real insightful info.

I assume you are speaking of an E60M5?? I have a C6 Z06 track car and driven some M5/M6's on the track...well...guess what....there is no comparison. The M5 weighs around 1000lbs more lol

I've owned both and had each on a road course. It's like comparing a go kart to an RV.
