GT3 pads squeeking

I just had GT3 pads front and rear installed and they squeak just as I am about to bring the vehicle to a stop. I have driven roughly 50 miles on them and no change! Will this eventually go away, or do I need to sell these things quick!

You have a more aggressive compound on the car now. I had the same on my 911S and they squeaked on occasion. That jsut let me know they were still doing their job! Get use to it!

I have Hawk DTC-60s now and they are noisy too but man, they will detach your retinas!

Thanks Doc! Not sure I am going to get used to them, know anybody who's looking for a set of pads?

You need to seat them properly and the squeak is reduced quite considerably. Mine do not squeak any more after a day of hard driving at the track. Once in a while if I am gentle on the brakes they squeak and I fix that by doing a couple of harder stops. Overall I love the pads.

As mentioned, break your new pads in correctly. Second, keep brake dust off the wheels, rotors and calipers. Lastly, use Permatex Ceramic 'anti-brake' squeal compound on the backing plates. This is completely normal behaviour for this type of pad btw; you'll need to 'work' a little to try and diminish the squealing.

As much as I can appreciate the stopping capabilities of these pads, the stock pads work just fine. I have put them back on and I am now offering these pads to anybody with a reasonable offer!
