Roof frame sealing "rivets"
Roof frame sealing "rivets"
Hi guys,
I have to change one roof frame sealing and I am wondering if there is a proper way to prevent the rivets from falling down in between the double layered metal frame of the car.
I hope one of you guys could understand what I mean
!
- sorry for my bad english explanation skills.
Should be the part number
99753748100 (Number 11)
As I know the seal has about 36 blind rivets and my mechanic told me,
that it is a quite hard job to get every one of them out of the car
after drilling them.
Thanks guys!
David

I'd suggest a magnet but if there is too much metal around it may not be possible. I guess you don't want the noise? If some fall and not too far, but you can't reach them, why not spray some foam in there to immobilize them? Just a thought.
No, as i know they are aluminum, so a magnet doesn´t help.
The foam option for sure is the way i would have to do it if there isn't
a better option. This is the way my mech is doing it normally.
A vacuum cleaner and foam for the missing ones
But i was wondering if there is maybe a more engineered way to do it
Regards
