2012 Golf R APR Exhaust, Forge Intercooler, Neuspeed Springs and RSE07 Wheels

One of our favorite things here at GMP Performance is big projects. With aftermarket parts, changing one basic thing can completely revamp the way your vehicle handles and drives. The more you upgrade, the more it changes. So the more the customer wants upgraded, the more excited we are to see the build's completion.

This Golf R is a good example of that. An intercooler, exhaust system, brakes, clutch, springs, all were on the to-do list for this and we were more than happy to provide!

Parts Installed:
APR Golf R RSC Turbo-Back Exhaust System
Neuspeed MK6 Race Spring Kit
Carbotech Brake Pads for the Golf R
Forge Intercooler
Sachs Race Engineering Clutch
Stabila Rear Sway Bar
Neuspeed RSE07 Wheels
Michelin Super Sport Tires
Podi Gauge Pod

The Build!

The parts are here!

Intercooler
Forge Motorsport worked hard to create their front mount intercooler for the Golf R. They wanted to make sure it provided the greatest possible cooling efficiency with the least negative side effects and least modification to the vehicle for installation. It looks great when it's all installed too!

And after

Attach all the hoses and its done. This customer chose black but Forge lets you choose between black, blue and red, to give that little extra customization which we think is pretty cool of them.

Exhaust

For this, the customer chose the RSC Turbo-back system from APR. RSC stands for Reflective Sound Cancellation and what it is is an exhaust system that's completely straight through, with no baffles or mufflers getting in the way of exhaust flow and no drone, so nothing to drive you crazy. The RSC chambers attached to the Golf R system completely eliminate drone and in doing so, open the exhaust up so all you'll hear is the true sound of the engine.

The system is quite tame under normal driving. You can easily drive around without the system appearing obnoxious to other drivers, yet once you stomp on it, the system screams as exhaust gasses rush out the tail pipe at incredible speeds. It's a win, win for everyone.

You can definitely see the difference here!

Installed and ready to rock

The Podi gauge

Neuspeed RSE07 Wheels and Michelin Super Sports

Looks? Check. Performance? Check. Happy customer? Check. And with those all met, this baby was out the door, equipped with just a bit better of everything.
