lAnother Archilles heel for P-turbo

Really bothered me when a radiator hose blew at 55k miles which required engine drop and because 'rubber' no warranty pay. Cost $1800.
Then there was the notorious clutch-slave cylinder.
Now another, the reservoir expansion tank holding the antifreeze cracked at 65k miles. Porsche claims heat/cold does this (Florida car) and extended warranty fails to cover plastic container. Florida dealer says it happens a lot, Cost 3.5 hr labor at $140/hr plus $350 for parts + tow. I 've owned +30 cars, i.e.4 BMWs, vette, cadi, honda, mustang etc with all over 70-80K miles and never had an antifreeze reservoir crack. Guess these are programmed race cars and after 20-30k miles, Porsche figures they're trashed or put out to pasture.

if its uncovered I would take it to an indy shop. frankly depending on the dealar a lot of good gold techs leave the dealer leaving them with some newer bodies.
In my experience most Porsche dealers are good but if its bad, as in doing the bare min... i mean come on, they had the engine down at 55k and didnt replace a part or OFFER to replace a part that is likely to go?????

Oh and nothing rattles like a BMW or is as underwhelming in everything not road related as a Vette. I guess the difference is you spend 70 on a new z06 and say you are paying for HP and track feel, when a lotus is 30k cheaper, with the same standard, but a porsche is expected to be better and I AGREE!
Frankly I would call PCNA and ask for some relief, the dealer should have told you there are common issues with parts and I am guessing you would have replaced the reservior had you known. That is a huge foul on the dealer.

It's the Porsche tax (lower quality, higher prices, ridiculous repair charges). I would be peeved too.

Yep that kind of sucks. I will be dropping my engine(my self) soon to fix a water leak. While there, replace spark plugs and inspect clutch. I have a two post that will facilitate the process. I will post pictures in about three weeks. Can't wait to start!

Bring it to an indy shop
or better yet Champion. They will drop it once and replace all the parts that are prone to go.
