About to do the ipd with oem tb. I read how the boot comes off when doing y pipe and larger tb/plenum. Is it also an issue when sticking with stock tb and y pipe?

Are upgraded clamps recomended? If so which type?

Tia.

If your tuned the stock hose can pop off, the issue is the hose, not the clamp. The hose has a small lip that can't hold tight enough. The hose provided by ipd fixes the issue.

Mine popped off a few times when tuned and reason I made the move to ipd...but I also did the throttle body.

you use factory clamps. if everything is seated properly they will not pop off. becareful not to overtighten them as they are easy to break. if they do brek just get nicer ones. i prefer having a wiggins on the TB.

I found the factory clamp can get out of shape if taken off a few times. Also the stock hose bead will wear if again removed a few times.

The out of shape clamp would not make for an even pressure around the hose, I replaced it with a new off the shelf clamp and it reduced pop offs but did not eliminate. Only after installing the IPD plenum and GT3 throttle body and their supplied hose was it fixed and has never popped off since.
