V1 Hardwire Install via the Fuse Box
V1 Hardwire Install via the Fuse Box
im going to try to install my V1 into my 2010 911 Turbo today since we are finally getting some nice weather!
i have read over a few threads on the V1 install and going to stick with using the fuse box method. a couple questions that i have:
1) which fuse location are you guys getting the best result? im looking for the V1 to turn on/off with the key starting the car.
2) im going to go to autozone and get some of these fuse taps that i have seen the previous threads. do i just put that fuse tap into the open fuse location im going to go with and then plug the existing fuse into the tap? sorry if that sounds confusing, just trying to figure out how to actually use the fuse tap.
thanks for any help!

Some have chose this method of installation,

If I had a Detector, I would have installed it this way with no wires.

I saw that method but rather stick with the fuse box location for power.
I just can't figure out where to put the fuse tap and if an additional fuse (and what amp) is still need to be added into the open slots of the fuse tap.

to close the loop on this i ended up pulling the 7.5amp fuse for slot Row C, F9.
according to the fuse diagram this fuse was related to the Tiprtronic control (specific to the 997) but i have a PDK car.
it was a switched fuse that allowed the V1 to turn off when there was no key in the 'on' spot or the car actually on. the V1 is on when the key is in the 'on' spot or the car is indeed on. exactly what i wanted.
with the add a fuse - i used a mini 7.5amp fuse on the 'back' open slot (since i pulled a 7.5amp fuse from Row C, F9) and another mini 5amp fuse in the 2nd open slot.
so far, all is working just how i wanted it!
