Wheel/Tire Warranty

I have had this coverage on my last 3 or 4 cars and I have to say it's been a blessing. I had a flat in my current car and they had to tow it to the dealership yesterday. There was a big nail near the sidewall, so they would not patch it. My warranty covers the tire and just for kicks, I'm going to tell you how much the dealership WOULD have charged me for a Michelin rear tire (not a cup), but I don't recall the model off hand now, but they want $560. I know I can get it on Tire Rack for probably 3 something. Anyway, also getting one rim refinished. I have had the other 3 done at no charge in the past year. Rocks seem to mess them up over time. Anyway, one tire or one rim repair and you're nearly covering your warranty expense. I have had 4 rims refinished and now 1 new tire in 19 months.

I agree, had one tire repaired and it cover 1/2 my 5 year policy. My policy does not cover cosmetic damage does yours? If its bent they will fix it but not if its just scratched.

If yours does cover, would you share the name of the insurer and the price paid?

RoadVantage. It was a lot actually $2,475, but it's for 5 years and it covers cosmetic damage. I merely had scratches, nicks from rocks and I get them refinished. So, I was wrong in that one tire or rim covers the cost, but considering the length of the contract, I think it is worth it. I have only put 7,000 miles on the car and already had all 4 wheels refinished.
