Can you powder coat Chrome wheels?

So the pattern on my wheels is fine, but I'm considering powder coating the chrome matte black. But, someone said I may have an issue with tires spinning on the rim. Is this true? Any other suggestions

Not sure why that would be an issue - the wheels would be sandblasted/prepped before powder coating. And, the chrome plating is most likely on the face /inner barrel of the wheel, not the outer that contacts the tire.

Just realize that blasting chrome off is 1000% harder than blasting paint. So, prepare to pay considerably more for a refinish.

Chrome surface has to be really clean, sandblasting not required.
