AllanPac is infamous around these parts
Area behind intercooler (997.1 tt)

When installing my EP1 I noticed that the rubbery material on the chassis area behind the intercooler look a bit different on either side. Right side looks much tidier, whereas left side looks a bit messy. See the red arrow in the pics. Does anyone know why that is? Part of normal manufacturing process or indication of accident repair?

While I have not had my IC's off yet, I have seen some accident repairs and those do not look like they were part of anything like that. I would expect to see some other metal work around the area, and there is none in evidence.
