Question about option 220 Porsche torque vectoring on 997.2 Turbos
The more I research this item the more confused I become. Here is what I now know - it is more for handling than straight line performance. At first I thought it would help a full bolt on + meth 997.2 Turbo with traction in a straight line but doesn't seem to be the case.
Furthermore, I keep reading that the stock system is very fragile and if you drive very aggressive at the track the stock PTV or LSD may not last very long. Then I am guessing you will have to continue to replace the stock part since there is no real aftermarket upgrade option?
I know the Turbo S comes stock with it but I am also finding regular turbos that have it as option 220 Torque Vectoring. I like the idea of a better handling car but if the stock part is that fragile and I can achieve better handling through some light aftermarket suspension work than I may rather go that route. The only real must have options for me is the sports chrono for sport plus and launch control with the PDK.
My final question is if the car is being purchased with the intent of doing tune/exhaust/intercoolers/meth and will be more of a weekend car with some spirited drives and occasional trips to the drag strip is this still a needed option or would I be better off without it and doing aftermarket suspension mods to improve the turbos handling? Thanks and I do apologize for all the questions as of late but I am trying to ensure I pick up the right car. Thanks everyone and happy holidays
