Porsche 997.1 TT (manual) Clutch Setup Advice!
Porsche 997.1 TT (manual) Clutch Setup Advice!
I'm a new member on the forum, and I must say a lot great info and support here!!
I recently purchased a Porsche 997.1 TT model 2007 (manual) and I am really happy, BUT I have a feeling
that the previous owner may have changed the clutch setup. Basically the clutch feels a little bit stiff and
also the clutch pedal engages in a higher position (maybe this is a common thing for these cars), sometimes it
gets quite tricky trying to start with 1st gear without it stalling once and a while.
So I am now researching on which parts to go with as to change my clutch setup (something slighty better than OEM)
and I would appreciate any advice.
Below are a few pointers that may help:
1. I will continue to use my OEM hydraulic slave (not swapping to BBi, GT2 etc)
2. I will not be upgrading to anymore HP (keeping HP stock)
3. I use the car as a daily driver, no track usage at all.
4. And last I would like the clutch pedal to engage at a lower position if possible.
Please let me know your thoughts, Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards
Nick

If the hydraulic assist is still intact then you prob wouldn't feel a stiffer pedal. I have a hard time telling that I have an aftermarket clutch on mine. Also, the pedal is normally pretty high up. You can use this to help you if you want to retain the hydraulics.

Best route is a Sachs 2.5 Combo, which drives like stock and hold more abuse than stock. We have the best pricing around on these kits !
