997.1 clutch replaced at 31k?

Just had my clutch replaced in my 2007 Carrera with just 31k. Seemed so odd that it would be replaced so early. I did purchase the car with 17k CPO but know I was the 3rd owner. A one else have had issues with the clutch? My previous car went 180k before replacing the original clutch.

Clutch is a wear and tear item like the brakes. If the previous owners didn't drive well it'll wear prematurely.

+1. Previous owners did a number on the clutch

Was it the clutch disc that wore out or the pressure plate? As the pressure plate is known to fail on these cars, mine did at 30,000 miles

Add me to the list of pressure plate failures, though I have not replaced mine yet, car goes in gear fine no slipping, pedal is just a little stiffer. Going to take it apart next month and see how bad it really is.

78k on mine with no issues.
2 owners with only 17k? I would suspect previous owners driving habits were a huge contributor.

I don't find 2 owners at 17k odd at all on a car like this. I was dealing on a 10 car recently, which was a lese, and it had 3200 miles on it...what a shame! I do engine brake, however, not at high rpm's... typically I go down to around 3rd gear, then 2nd only if in down into low rpm's before taking a turn/etc. Im secretly trying to find a way to install a new clutch, so I can update it, and throw in a lwfw as well.
