Installed VAP X-Pipe on Rapide

Installed a VAP X-pipe on the Rapide the other day. It really changed the dynamic of the car. It now has less drone and drama on the shifts. A higher pitch, smoother idle, and punchier acceleration in the mid-range. It's like normal has the punch of Sports mode in the mid-range. Doesn't sound any real "louder" on the inside, but I suspect it is on the outside. More people watch the car go by than previously. I think it helps with shifting performance too. The smooth idle is quite noticeable.

So far, so good. I kind of miss the old sound, but new one is cool too.

Did you have decat pipes installed previously? As a comparison, maybe?

No I did not. The car was stock, only mod is the valve controller that defaults to open. The x pipe replaces the secondary cats with a single piece.

I bought it used. My mechanic recently removed it from a DBS that went with long tube headers and a crazy exhaust. It wasn't really on my wish list but was offered for a deal that was hard to say no to.

Is this the part you had installed on your car? I put on my Vanquish and have noticed like what you have experienced. Not a dramatic change a slightly louder and higher pitch sound.

Yes, it's that or very similar. Only saw it for a brief moment. The mid-range punch is noticeable too. I haven't tried it sport mode yet.

I respect you guys but I think it's worthless knowing many want the car original, on mine the open valve kit, well nobody will have kept it. It was terrible the whole car was trembling. And the valves may end up running weird after being open so much.
So it's like a colour interior change you spent 2 k and it end up to worth 2k less. Total 4 k.
Its bit like this.
For me not having mecanic it's a big no no to play around. Sorry

One day I messed a whole car installing a lowering kit from Arden on an xj8. I understood the rats at Arden then who let me down. They lowered it like 4 cm instead of 2. I broke all suspension bushing so well nobody find out for months it was a bummer I prefer not telling you more. I spent a fortune, got an expert hired for nothing.....I received the kit inside a dirty plastic bag from Arden. If I could I rather not tell you what I wish them. The only thing Arden has understood in the car industry is that real rich have such bad taste that's how they re making it.
No dealership will want help me out after setting such s...t.

The car idles so smooth now too. Not that it was rough before, but now has a silky feel to it.

I have cat deletes + Quicksilver exhaust on my car, I love the sound of it, especially when I play with the paddles.
Was just curious if it would be a different sound / feeling with the X-Pipe vs the cats delete.

The 2nd generation Vanquish S has the secondary cats deleted from the factory. This x pipe replaces the secondary cats.

I would defer to VAP to answer that one. X pipe is going to balance the two exhausts pipes out which effects the whole thing.
