"Ok let me first state that these runs were on a quite four lane divided country road in Central California."

1) I was minding my own in my 07 stage IV TT this afternoon when I see this red Z06 pull up next to me. The gentlemen pulls up next to me window down so I down mine and he says very nice ride with a thumbs up and I return the kind compliments and we continue to motor down the road. So I'm eyeing his ride for a minute and think Hmmm... So I ask myself, "self" this is a great oppertunity to check out this stage IV... "self" replies, go ask him! So I pull up and ask him if he has ever done a pull from 30+ and he replies "no" I say "do you wanna try" and he says "sure why not" and we both proceed to slow to 30. I look over and try too line up and "POW" he takes off like a preacher in a ***** house before I could straighten my head in the northerly direction pulling 2-3 car lengths on me. So I start to dig deep with a pedal roll and thinking "this sucks" but she keeps fighting and reeling, fighting and reeling and I take him at 94+/- deliviering the same car lengths back to him.

What a flipping rush! My cheeks were peeled back and I think there is a permanent embossed outline of my body left in my seat!

For the vette guys I know this was not a stock to stock run and this is not about who was faster. I have huge respect for the Z06's power and just wanted to share "my first" real pull experince. "Not looking for a war or to get flamed" Had to add that

2) Same road opposite direction 1-2 hours latter. GSX 1000 "I think" pulls up and gives me the 3+0 with his gloved hand and I repsond with a yep! So we slow and try to line up and again "POW" he takes off! I responded quicker this time and we are necking for a few seconds and I'm fighting and then he falls a few car lengths back at 94+/- and we both back off.

Again, what a flipping rush! Up against two different machines on a quite road from 30-what are the chance of that in a few hours?

Questions: I wonder if the bike was a 600, it was hard to make out? I never had anyone on a bike ask for a 30 roll. I picked on a car and two with my 749S in the past but not that often. He definetley was experinced. Wonder if it could have been the Z06 driver suited up in leather???

Haha and here I was trying to return your call and meanwhile you were lollygagging with a Z06. Love it! They have instant torque but it's nice to know that even when the get the jump on you and leave early you can real him in...

In terms of the bike, my guess would be a 750. A 1000 with a _good_ rider _should_ be able to walk just about any car on this forum Having said that a 1000 with just an ok rider is such a handful that it's possible

I had to get out after a long week, my phone was imploding! The Z06 gentlemen was really great and we will hook up again in the valley I'm sure. He informed me that his friend is taking delivery of a red 07TT next week so it will be hard not come across him down here. (I will let him no that it is mandatory to visit Shark Werks or else...)

I had a feeling it wasn't a 1000 but thought I should ask.

That sounds like a plan. Drop-off on Wed and when do you want to pick her up? The Z06 is impressive in a straight line so it's no mean achievement to catch him and pass him like that Good stuff!

PS You know Sharks have ampulae of lorinzini to help sniff out prey but the color red.. that's just like ringing the dinner bell to me!
