My new DB9
QuickSilver makes an exhaust for the DB9 ... I have one on my Vantage ... I would suggest that when you get over the initial excitement of your new ride ... like a year from now !!!
Thanks still for all the nice comments. The Volante I test-drove (top up) had the QuickSilver and it really sounded quite nice. Regarding my car, I have to say that as soon as you put your foot in it at around 3500 RPMs it starts to roar. Since I like this car for it's subtlety (as compared to the Turbo), I'd rather not draw an extra attention to myself than comes naturally.
Not a whole lot between 2005-2008, except the availability of the sports pack from 2007+. The seats changed I think in 2006 and now for 2009 there's a 20 HP bump (to 470) and changes to the center console design and the key start. 2005 represents a great "bargain" and there's plenty of cars out there. Almost all, except the 2009's are discounted so buy the best one you can afford. I always loved the Vanquish but the lack of a manual (excepting the extra-rare factory 6MT conversion cars) didn't make it an option for me. Make sure you look national and use that pricing leverage if you are pursuing a local car!
I think they consider it more of a true manual with paddles as opposed to the Tiptronic which was actually an automatic. Splitting hairs I guess but how quickly the transmission responds is the thing regardless of what they call it. Also, there's no "automatic" mode in the Vanquish so you have to use the paddles all the time.
NY. They aren't desparate enough (yet) as I offered to trade BOTH my Turbo and DB9 for the black one but I think they just
The thing about Aston's I have realized is that pictures in no way do them justice. Of course they look beautiful in pictures but not until you are able to walk around the car and take it in do you realize how nice they really are. I remember the first time I saw the DB7 Vantage in person my jaw dropped to the floor, gorgeous. The DB9 just as nice, maybe nicer.
