That's fantastic! You really can't go wrong with using any reliable classic as a fun daily driver. I used a '55 Porsche 356 pre-A as my winter driver (no A/C is too brutal here in the south) for several years. Sold it to a collector in Germany, where it now sits in a private museum.
I miss it everyday, and I'm sure it curses me daily for its new, sad, captive life.
- It had more soul in its spare tire than any new car will ever have... so to speak.

Drive them, enjoy them, and save them!

thanks for all the replies.

Yes, the rational and practical side of me agrees, owning an AMV8 2 seater as a DD in the North East is really not ideal. However you can honestly say that about a lot of other cars. At 70k, it's cheaper than many cars in NYC, and I don't see why I need to baby this thing just because it's an Aston (although I will) in the sea of S-Classes, Jags, and 7-Series.

As for owning another car, it's not a financial thing. I don't want to take care of 2 cars, and I don't think it's necessary.

With that said, still waiting to see if my colleague can commit to taking my 3 series. Otherwise I might actually end up with 2 cars for a couple months.

Finally, great Spitfire, awesome car I grew up in London when my father was pursuing his PhD, saw a few of them but didn't learn to appreciate that car till I was much older.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but I finally bought one. In the low 60s.

Pics soon after I wash off the grime from my drive back from Chicago and apply Zaino treatment this weekend.

it's an 07, fully loaded including umbrella . 25k miles. Black exterior gray interior.

Initial impressions: I wouldn't take it into Manhattan until I get comfortable with the shifting. It's a great car, felt very planted and stable blasting through the PA mountains in pouring rain. The heavy clutch and pedals (the gas and breaks both feel heavier) does get tiring after 13 hours of driving. When I finally got home and needed to move the 3 series out of the way, the clutch felt unnaturally light.

Sound system is great, Sat-Nav is garbage, makes the iDrive in BMW seem brilliant.

Looks and sounds amazing. Took my neighbor for a spin today and he loved it. Then I took a spin in his GT-R, and the performance blew the AMV8 away, LOL. These two cars are literally opposites.

Saw in another thread you bought at Ferrari dealership, too. I bought mine at a Ferrari dealership in Long Island. Seems the Ferrari dealerships are selling them cheap, haha.
