Factory Warranty on V8 Mods

I just got back from talking to my service manager at dealer. I thought I better ask him about how modifications would affect my warranty before I proceed with what I was planning on doing and here is what I was told:

  1. Replacing the muffler system is OK and would not affect my warranty.
  2. Lowering the vehicle is OK and would not affect my warranty.
  3. Wheels are no problem.
  4. Replacing the air filters with performance filters would be no problem.
  5. Body kits would be no problem and would not affect my warranty.
  6. Replacing the cat's would void my warranty.
  7. Modifying the ECU would void my warranty.
  8. Modifying the sportshift module would void my warranty.
I have an 09 Vantage Roadster and was looking at changing the cat's, muffler and air intake filter but was not considering touching the ECU. Anyone with warranty experience that has replaced their cat's ?

Aston Martin fits 200 cell catalysts as a factory supported and non-warranty voiding modification through Prodrive in the UK. They would have a very, very hard time invalidating a warranty for a modification which was identical to a factory supported one....

Sports shift and ecu have to be "looked for" to be detected. I have had mine for 2 year without problems. My tech at my dealership tells me the car runs better and feels better. Simply no problem. The other issue is that there really is no proof that you have reprogramming, especially the SS, which by the way is the most significant mod you can do to your car if you have the SS trans. Don't hesitate. Your car will be much better with ECU and SS. Call Stuart at RSC.
