This is the one i have my eye on...$79k with 12k miles.

Dealer has said they would knock off a $3k since it is the end of the year. Wondering how i can push them more as well as tell them to give me some new rear tires.
Red interior is usually not the most popular color so I bet there is alot more negotiating room and it has probably been sitting on the lot for a while.

Wholesale money on that car will be 68-71k, 73-74k is probably real money on the car. 76-79k is 08+ money. Remember you have to add tax/title/reg on top of that so you are looking at 80k+ out the door if you pay what they are asking for. Too much IMO.

I paid wholesale money just few months ago for mint onyx on black (one of most desirable combos) with 11k miles for less than 70k (not saying how much lower but significantly, granted I got a steal b/c of certain connections).

If you can wait, give it a few weeks to a month, after holidays car sales really start to slide a bit in Jan.

Thanks.... I was able to find out that the car had been sold to the dealer in October but it wasn't registered again/passed VA smog test until December of this year so the car probably hasn't sat at the dealership for too long. That dealership currently has 9 used Vantages on their lot.

If they have 9 on the lot then there is definitely more wiggle room. Keep in mind aston will always charge the highest price (its what they do best). Still you should easily be able to get a car of that spec in the 74k or less range. If you have a trade in, also make them give you a few more grand on that end as well. If you negotiate 5k off, that would be a better deal (although still a tad high, but its at least reasonable)

got it... the dealer was pushing me to get the car before the end of the year so that it would look better on their numbers for December and they said that they might not be able to give a good price in January but based on your recommendations, i think they just wanted to make a sale no matter what.

yes, i would be trading in so what they also helps is with the tax as I'll only have to pay tax on the remaining amount after trade in. i was thinking about 78k with AM certification for 1 year and also their 2 year extended warranty but i doubt they would do that. i'd also like them to give me 2 new rear tires as the ones on the car feel toasted.

This one might interest you. I was going to buy it in September but they didn't have the title at the time due to some sort of issue with the guy that traded it in and I had to have it to get it across the border. A friend of mine looked at it and said it is in mint shape. I would assume they have the title issue all sorted out but I was going to buy it for $70,500.00. Food for thought.

wow... that one is very nice and the price is great but in Chicago and I'm in Maryland. I trust you when you say it is in mint shape. How does one go about getting it if i wanted? Would I got through the Chicago AM dealer or the one that i went to in Virginia?

Any other websites that have used Vantages... i'm definitely open to suggestions and even flying to check out cars like the one Blayne posted in Chicago.

Thanks for everyone's help so far. I'd like to say that the people on this forum truly help each other out, not like some of the other forums that I have been a part of. I'm hoping that I can join the AM family soon.

You would have to contact them and see. I know they took it to the AM dealer and had the daytime running lights activated as I need that in Canada so the AM dealer in Chicago should be familiar with it. I'm sure if you went through the AM dealer, they would charge you something for the transaction but you would have to call and see. Others probably know better the cost of having it shipped to you but I would guess around $1000-1500. Keep us posted and good luck. Was just in your shoes a few months ago and got an 09 with 4900 miles on it out of Calgary. Spent more than I was originally planning on but am very happy I did. Just wish the snow would go now although that will be another three months before that happens.

When I was car shopping, these were some that I was seriously considering.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=b&make=ASTON

On the last one, I was able to negotiate it down to $85K. I'm sure you can negotiate further with it nearing the end of the year and dealers wanting to recognize the bookings/revenue for this year.

Also, if you're considering having the vehicle shipped to you, in addition to Intercity Lines, I would also contact CSL Auto Transport. I used them and had it shipped from FL to CA in 3 days. Make sure it's an enclosed truck as well. Good luck!

Yes that is the guy i was dealing with. I would guess you could even do a little better than that as my price was back in September and now they have been sitting on that car for another three months and it isn't likely going to move now until the spring. There is definitely more security in buying from an AM dealer but I find they are usually charging a premium for that security. I don't know much about Gold Coast but they are a Bentley/Lamborghini dealer so I guess you have to put some trust in that. Good luck!
