02 DB7 cold start problem

Just purchased a 2002 DB7 Vantage Volante. When cold, the starter turns over easily but motor won't catch. Above about 45 degrees, it starts immediately. What could be the problem?

Replaced the battery, had it tuned, serviced, etc. and it still won't start below 40 degrees. Starter works, motor turns over but won't start.
Any ideas?

Not that familiar with the DB7, but one thought does come to mind. Have you checked the fuel pump relay operation? Perhaps it is sticking when it is cold and preventing fuel from being delivered...have you checked the fuel delivery pressure in the cold? I presume you have checked for spark as well? Relay normally involved there as well.
On the Vantage, there are any number of noises going on once the key is turned on before starting the engine...including the fuel pump pressurizing the system. Can you notice any difference in pre-start noises cold to warm?

key problem

Turns ourt it wasn't the cold that caused the problem, but one of the keys. It's chip had lost programming so one key worked and other would only turn over the starter but not allow gas 5to flow.

That's good to know in case we run into similar problems. Kind of silly that it lets the starter turn over the engine but no gas, good way to run down your battery.

Glad you were able to finally solve the problem, although it still sounds like it was a frustrating experience to go through. Thanks for the good information!
