N420 Sport Exhaust

Hi guys,

I'm thinking about retrofitting my MY2011 V8V with the OEM Exhaust from the N420.

Anyone tried that already? Is it worth it?

Thanks!

watchrabbit,
The n420 exhaust is slightly louder then the stock and I would think it should fit without a problem. I'm not sure if there is any power gain with this exhaust but I have plans on getting my N420 on the dyno next month.

I think that the main reason for changing your exhaust is weight reduction and sound, that said I think there's much better alternatives in the aftermarket brands.

What would you guys choose? I drove the N420 last week, and the sound was in my opinion much better, it has a special growl without even removing the fuse- by the way, does it have any function with that exhaust?

I am somehow troubled that on a long distance journey would be annoying though, I'd rather have it not that loud when traveling long distance, can't imagine 1000km highway beeing comfy with that nois in the back...

Maybe I should stay with the OEM one, I just had my car for 6 months now :-)

I am installing the RPI exhaust tomorrow ... It should be the most refined of all the aftermarket options (and in theory provide the most torque based on its X-pipe design) ...

I will be doing a writeup for the exhaust shortly and also doing an after dyno as soon as I can get a dyno appointment set. Pictures will come in the next day or two.

Do all these exhausts fit also on the 4.7s?

This is what you should do: Keep the original exhaust (despite it's weight issues) and simply replace the cats. This will give you the best combination of performance and sound enhancement and will not be (at all) intrusive on long trips. I love the sound of my Miltek exhaust and I like the noise it makes but it can drone on the highway. Before I had the rear box installed I was driving around with Larini cats and the original exhaust which I really liked. I should have kept it that way (saving about $2,500) but I had already ordered the Miltek. I may reinstall the original exhaust as I still have it. I did notice a slight improvement in performance with the new rear box... but the big improvement came from the new cats.

I have the Quicksilver super sport on my AM. And I love it. The noise is absolutely to die for. Highly recommended.

My Father has the Quicksilver Super Sport on his as well. Sounds absolutely unreal... from the cabin, windows closed, you won't find it an issue at all. Full throttle is really the only time it's loud. Amazing sounding exhaust... in fact... probably the nicest sounding car I've EVER heard.

Exhaust installed ... going to be a long write up but so far I am very impressed with the power. There are many pros, and a few cons but over all I am happy so far. Going to wait for the dynos to come in before I give my final review/impressions ...

I have the RSC Sport exhaust and absolutely love it! The sound is out of this world when you put your foot down, but barely noticeable when cruising ... Haven't heard the N420 exhaust, so I can't assume anything there ..

I have had the N420 Sports Exhaust installed on my 07 V8 and it has a deeper note, but retains the unique harmonic note that the standard exhaust had. Also of course fuse 22 has been out since day one.

However, it simply wasn't enough to satisfy my need for a more aggressive growl. Therefore I have purchased the RSC cats and ECU tuning. It gets installed this week, and I am excited to hear and drive this. I may be one of few that have this combo of the Aston OEM Sports exhaust (N420's) + RSC cats. I would upload an audio clip here but don't know if thats possible. Maybe I'll do youtube and post link here when its done.

please post your impression/audio clip after you get the RSC cats installed. I have a N420 and would love to see how the Cats change the sound.

yes please!

Sound clips of all your combination guys, I think a lot of people could decide easier after experiencing them. Also maybe a sound clip from inside, windows closed.

Thank you all!
