Vantage Shifters

The most recent Vantage that I drove with a 6 speed was an 07 and I was not impressed with the shifter. Have the more recent Vantages received better shifters?

What do you mean by "shifter"? The physical **** on the top of the stick shift? The way it engages? The throw of the shifts?

In the process of purchasing a new car I test drove a number of AM's. I found the single clutch "sport shifter" jerky at first, but if you let your foot off of the gas (like you would in a manual during a gear change) than the rev match was great. If you are used to a PDK in a 911 (or another dual clutch) than you will find it different and annoying. Cheers. B.

I thought the manual on the 07 was notchy and the throws were too long. Did they change much after that?

I have an 07 Vantage and think the shift action is excellent. It compares nicely to the Audi R8 (not as nice but still really good). I prefer it's action to the Porsche 911 and the Corvette.

I agree that it feels a bit notchy. Wouldn't say the throws are too long though. I suppose it depends on what you're accustomed to.
