Looking At 2007 Vantage-Input Needed
I'm rapidly approaching retirement from my job in early June.....two weeks to be exact. Kids college tuitions are finally finished.....and it's time to buy myself a retirement present. I've been researching the V8V for the past two years, and have received tremendous feedback from the people on this forum, who have always answered all my questions.
I'm looking to buy a 2007 or possibly 2008. I contacted Aston Martin of Atlanta, GA, regarding a 2007 V8V, silver, 6-speed manual, 14,xxx miles. It's a two owner car, with a clean history according to carfax. Service records have been emailed to me, and it appears all servicing has been done to this point. Tires and brakes are rated at 75%, an upgraded exhaust system was installed by the original ower, and a 3M clear bra cover on the front end, including mirrors.
I'm very serious about this car......so are there any further details or questions I need to ask about? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks Chris

it's a great car, do some reading in the forum. a lot of the possible issues are stated. you might want to look at autotrader, and try to get one with the newer 4.7 engine. It depends on budget, I am happy with my 06 and the mods I have done.
Drive the car first. Compare an 07 with an 08. Every year there are upgrades with the car and they do improve. I'm very happy with my 07. When you buy one drive it often as the my car behaves better if I use it daily. Nothing major, just more belt noise if it sits for a week. It has been a reliable car for me. The only performance upgrade i'd recommend are the higher flow cats.
I have a 2007 and love it. 2007's seems to be the year that had the most front timing chain cover oil leaks. Get access to the underside and make sure this car does not have oil dripping from the bottom of the cover and off the AC compressor.
All good advice ... I like my 2007 better than 2008+ due to the dash layout. I have a ton of mods on my car performance is better than 4.7 .... not sure about Mkt 4.3 vs 4.7 but might be worth the savings, then do some mods ....
