New clutch OUCH$$$

Finally at 41k my clutch started slipping.
When I first got the car had 9k original owner miles.
If any of you guys has experience with changing the clutch please comment.

My car is an 06 manual.

Used an indie shop - did a great job w/ stock AM parts. Not syre if RSC has their new clutch on the Mkt - might want to check.

Too late I already order the clutch at the dealer. My car is waiting for parts.

I didn't find anything in the Internet.
The only one I know of is the one that the ESX kits use but it is more expensive than the OEM. I was looking for an option for about the same price.

RSC is still in development right? If not has any of you guys purchased one from RSC?

Spec has the stage 2+ clutch for only $2400. That's the kit I will be purchasing. It is a Caron Kevlar hybrid disc that can hold FI power if you need, but is soft enough for daily use. The break-in period is also shorter and easier than the pure Kevlar stage 2. The difference between stage 1 and stage 2+ is only $200 so you might as well get the best.

While you are at it, do the shifter cable adjustment, it's very easy to do as I pointed out in an earlier thread. I will be doing mine shortly.

Do you think the dealer will charge me a crazy amount to adjust it? How long does it take?

They should not, I was told by official aston dealer that once you have the midpipes off and have access to the adjustment latches its easy (they are auto tenshioning). The actual process takes literally less than 60 seconds, you just have to have someone hold the shifter center (dealership has a special tool for this, but a buddy will suffice). For more info and pics, view my shifter cable adjustment thread ...

Hope that helps

The $5,200 does not include the $2,200 right?
How much was the clutch and how much was the labor (how many hours)?

The 5200 and the 2200 are two different things.

Mi car was a daily driver for about a year only but I use my car every weekend and for long road trips and a track day per year. Ok maybe two.

The car is solid and very reliable. Only for a few little problems like airbag sensor and emissions light.

The rest is just regular maintenance. ( I like to keep the car in good shape )

Talking about good shape I think I might need a new front bumper. Any ideas?? I really like the one in the v12 or vantage S

I really like the DBS front bumper. Also the DBS rocker panels/side skirts.

Can an independent shop do the clutch? I know when I had my Maserati they use a proprietary diagnostic system to adjust the "kiss point" and there were very few independents who had the system. Is the Vantage similar in this regard?
