Tuned AMV8 2010 - awesome!

I am sure many of you are like me - you've had better performing cars than the Vantage, and drive the AM because you like driving such a good looking, refined car. But, you frequently get in and think: I wish I had a little more power, responsiveness and better shifting?

So I just got my car tuned by Jerry from Eurocharged, and have to say it has taken my enjoyment to the next level.

The car finally drives the way I want - more power through the whole range, and significantly better shifting. I am getting about 30 more horsepower to the wheels. I didn't want any physical mods because the car is still under warranty, and this is a huge improvement.

Even better, they will flash the ECU back to stock anytime I have a service appointment, and the re-flash - for free.

The whole process takes 30 minutes. So far, I have driven 200 miles and everthing is working fine. I will keep you posted if anything changes.

I hope this doesn't sound like a commercial - I am a real customer and just really blown away with the results. I have been researching mods for a while and didn't find anything that fit my needs, until this.

Where did you get the 30 whp figure? Did you dyno the car before and after?

That's a fair question, and I should have been more clear in my post. Here are the results they claim for their programming on the 4.3L engine.

http://www.eurocharged.com/index.php...:cartuningnews

So to be clear, I did not do a before and after dyno. He claims the gains on my 4.7L engine are the same, and I believe he would produce the charts to anyone that asks.

I definitely feel an improvement, and would certainly encourage anyone interested to talk to these guys.

30 hp is quite an increase. But there again yours is a 4.7

Mine is a 4.3 and I got 20 hp extra. Much better low level torque. Throttle response is improved too.

Totally agree with you about wanting more power especially having driven faster cars.

30 whp is a lot from a tune alone, more than I've heard of before for the Vantage. Although some of it is the result of moving the rev limit to 7500, there appear to be significant gains across a pretty wide rev range. Not bad.

.......

I TOLD YOU SO.

Eurocharged tune is no joke ... Never got a chance to do the high octane tune with 7600 rpm, the gains would probably have been closer to 40hp.

Enjoy it

Most ECU for non turbo/supercharged cars are typically fools gold! No one can tell 20-40 hp, from the seat of your pants. If you did not dyno before and after with similar conditions all you know for sure is your wallet is lighter.

Let me qualify my remarks by saying that the results posted on the Eurocharged web site do look good, BUT, as I think about it, other companies have claimed gains of 30-35 bhp from an ECU reflash but those results were not supported by owners' before/after dynos. I'd still like to see the before/after dynos of an owner's car for confirmation of the results posted on the Eurocharged's web site.

The results on the website are my personal dyno, which I was there to witness every step of the process to verify there was no foul play. Those independent gains are 100% legitimate. Most tuners do not have a clue what they are doing really. Further more, you can't really compare the v8 vantage ECU upgrade to other cars because the car is so heavily detuned from the factory. There is still even more power to be extracted on top of the 31.4 HP I made at the wheels but I told Jerry that was good enough for now (since at the time stage 2 and 3 were in the works). A high octane tune could easily have gotten 40hp I believe

I will also add that they guarantee their work. So don't pay them if you don't think there is a difference. For me, the money spent is keeping me in my AMV8 and my wandering eye is contained (for now).

So the car has to be in TX to get this tune? That website is not loading for me.

For now I believe the car has to be in TX, but their remote tuner should be available eventually. Once you have the remote tuner they can remotely tune your car over any wireless connection and you can change/modify/revert to stock any time you want for free. And if you aren't happy, they don't charge you a dime.

That's why I felt confident enough to be the test car for the Aston Community b/c it was literally a win/win no matter what. They really do the absolute best tunes for Astons. I will be taking my other two cars to them shortly as well for custom tunes.

You can get 50 hp if you have 110 RON fuel +. Using fuel as a rationale for getting more power does not mean the chip programme is better.

My 4.3 got 20 hp after a remap. I have the before and after dyno to prove this. I will try and post it up soon. Many tuners like to add a bit extra hp to impress clients and / or publicity.
