Yes, the water may never reach it optimum temperature of 180 degrees, especially in colder climates. Not good for your engine and fuel consumption will most likely suffer too.

As mentioned it does sound like the thermostat is on the way out, this can affect performance, fuel economy and heater efficiency, but the good news is it isn't an expensive fix - at an Aston specialist.
