New Wheels on V8 Vantage
, gonna wait to mod more. Spent soo much money on this car so far.I believe the tires have to come off to check if sensors are there, unless you have a reset tool, which probably uses RF to reset the sensors and therefore would not require tire removal, if the sensors are indeed present.
I was told that on cars before a certain date (2009 MY?), you can just unplug the TPMS module (it is underneath the glove box) and this will make the light go away, along with any tire monitoring, of course. On my 2009, it didn't work (something to do with the way the newer cars are wired).
If Irish07 is reading this, maybe he can confirm the above...

BTW that box is really ghetto looking.
Sorry for the very small picture, but this is the TPMS sensor mounted in the wheel. This system was manufactured by SmartTire Europe Ltd. at least through MY08. I think Aston went to a different supplier after that. Sorry to say, the wheel transmitters cost a little more than $200-EACH! That's why people remove them and transfer them to their new wheels. A tire shop will install the sensors, which requires tire removal and rebalance, for about $100 for all 4-wheels.

I believe these are the compatible ones with our car.
To help you out here is a picture of what the sensor basically looks like. Notice the metal Valve stem, there is a nut that threads onto the stem to hold the sensor in place--so if you don't have a metal valve stem with a nut, that's the first clue that you have no Sensor. Also, Aston puts little colored collar on each valve stem and the sensor system shows a color light so you know which tire is low.

The fronts say "ET 45" Does that make any sense?

First off, great look. It makes the car look updated and new. Second, I have broken that phone 3 times. Put a piece of clear tape over the glass or it will continue to fall apart and cut up your finger. Then I would get an otter box. It's cumbersome but it is a great product. Sorry if you've heard this already but that phone frustrates the hell out of me. Oh yeah, the Vantage in white with those wheels is perfect.
Also, some guys wanted to know the offsets, if you know it would be helpful to some people.
Edit: Nevermind I think I found it:
"SPP10 Sports Pack 10 Spoke wheel - $4,235" Sound right?

As for the phone I'm really against having a case on it, I love the look of the phone and it's really durable unless you drop it 5+ feet onto a hard surface. I've dropped this phone many times, and it broke on this fall. So far I've cracked the screens these phones: a 2G, 3G (twice), 4 (back cover), and now front screen on this one (over 4+ years of owning iPhones). For this one I found an OEM replacement screen w/ tools on ebay so I'm going to try that out. But still hate cases!
Also, have you ever been to Cars and Coffee in Glen Mills? I went this weekend and it was pretty good, you should try and come when its nicer out!

Thanks for the tip and the PMs CJ ... I snagged those for my baby. Can't wait for spring ... RSC cats/filters/ECU ... new Red Stuff pads ... and now upgraded wheels. Not sure if I'll install the wheels and swap in my existing rubber (which is down abt 25% in front and 50% rear) to wear them down more or just hold off on installing both the new wheels/rubber till later.

JK. I personally just did a direct swap, and kept the tires on the wheels they were originally mounted. If you plan on selling the AM V8, you're probably best off selling the wheels seperate, and selling the car stock. Or if the new buyer wants to buy the wheels, give the stocks free (as they are practically worthless). Post some pics once they are on!
CJpatel- Yes ET45 means 45mm offset. That's about perfect, as the HRE recommended offset up front was 46mm. I am curious to see if the rears are ~59mm, if so that means aston is finally starting to fix their offsets on their wheels, almost half a decade later
...
Looks great, congrats
...Looks great, congrats
... and here I thought that the vendor was just going to kickback to you direct
Yes, would definitely plang to sell these separate should I ever part with the car. I'm hanging on to all the stock bits regardless so that I can restore to stock down the road if I so choose. I've got some track days coming up in the spring so might use up some of the stock rubber before I swap in the new wheels. We'll see ... Would love to see them on however so might not be able to wait

007 Vantage: Thanks, I asked if Aston Curious can post the rear offsets for everyones knowledge.
Good idea. I'm doing the same, have all my stock bits. No one wants a modding car. Or so I think.
As far as the track, you'd assume you wanna throw the stocks on, but wait till you feel the weight difference on the car.... its amazing how 5lbs of unsprung weight makes the car feel soo much lighter on is feet. Personally for me I do not track, but if I did, I would throw the stocks on to wear the tires down.
Also, can you post pics of the offsets on the inside of the wheels when you get them.

Sure will do. I should have them in hand sometime next week unless they get hung up at customs. They have 245/40R-19 front and 285/35R-19 rear rubber. Will check the wheels for the offsets. From the listing (actually for both of ours), there was a pic of at least one of the wheels with "ET49" carved into it. Not sure if that's a front or rear however but your noted ET45 on one of the fronts, correct CJ?
Got the wheels delivered today. F**K they're gorgeous! In absolutely mint condition and the tires are pretty much new as well. Thanks again CJP for the heads' up, that was a total score! We can't award pilchards here but I owe u a pint or three for sure if you're ever up in TO!
Tried to find the offset code for the rears in answer to 007V's question but couldn't find it. Can someone give me a clue where to look?

I assume so but that was a picture from the listing which was zoomed in so couldn't tell the location of the text. I was looking at them w fairly poor lighting in the garage tonight. Will have another look tomorrow or on the weekend as they're packed away now but thought I'd ask here in case anyone knew precisely where to look for it.
