Aston Martin Virage (2012) Photos
lol! People with opinions shouldn't post?
Beautiful car. Nice color combo.
I, too, don't fully understand the 'wings' on the front valence. I love the sides, and especially the rear diffuser. It looks like a refreshed DB9. Conservatively executed.

I picture him being the crotchety old man talking about how much better thing were in the good ol' days while yelling at the kids to get off his lawn.
To the OP, congrats on your awesome new car. It's a bummer that AM doesn't offer a manual gearbox option for those of us that prefer it, thus precluding me from a potential purchase consideration.
Well, nexlogic did say " I want to hear feedback". If you ask a question you had better be ready to hear any answer. While I find the find the car to be gorgeous overall, there may always be a little tweak here or there that I would make if I was the car designer. I guess that is why there is a thriving business in after market parts so we can each modify our cars to ourown unique style. While we may have little things that we would change if we could, I still don't know of any manufacturer out there who offers a more beautiful line up of automobiles. I guess that is why I just bought my second one!
nexlogic, did you also get your front amber running lenses smoked? They blend in nicely with the black paint. I also just had mine done along with the white turn signal indicators on the front fenders. They all blend in with the black body color now. I left the red ones alone in the back to go with the red calipers and red tail lenses.
I was seriously considering a 2012 Aston Martin DBS but honestly, what held me back was the rumor (dealer even confirmed) of a new DBS announcing this year. My plan is to retain this car for now and trade it in for a new DBS or flagship Aston Martin (assuming it's badass).
Thank you everyone for your kind words! I am open to all feedback. Like most people I imagine, I prefer positive feedback but negative is fine, too. That doesn't change my mind about my choice nor do I really take XKRS's opinion with much value. But I do appreciate each one of you who was out not for me, but just asking for a level of respect for the forum. Seems to me XJRS likes to bust everyones ballz. No big deal though, that's the nature of a public forum.
Again, I really like the Virage and what incremental refinements Aston Martin did to its already gorgeous fundamental VH platform. The projected lights are the new thing in my opinion, most evident in their One-77 and other makes like Ferrari Italia 458 and even GTR. Not Apples or Orange comparison but you get my drift. It's the sleek, slanted design that moves away from the oval, rounded headlights found in the early 2000s - my opinion.
I should mention the drive is smooth - really smooth. I test drove the DBS right before the Virage and the drive is very similar.
Let me know if you have any questions or feedback on this car - bad or good.

How did you have yours done?
I find it amusing that I can read through all the posts in a thread and blindly identify which ones were made by XJRS. His are most frequently the contrarian, dissonant chord in an otherwise harmonious discussion. Not only are his views frequently opposite to almost everyone else, but he often states them bluntly, matter-of-factly, and with absolute disregard to feelings that might get hurt. I used to find it quite jarring, but now that I'm more used to it, I try to consider it part of his charm.

On both of my black Vantages I had the local Aston certified body shop spray a special mixture of black and clear paint over these lenses. When the lights are off the lenses look black, but when you turn on the turn signal, you can easily see it lit up. I paid $75 to have all 4 done.
Enthusiasts are those who have things to say about the cars in the manufacturer's lineup, good or bad. Just because you own an Aston doesn't mean they are all perfect and deserve 100% blind admiration.
Some of Aston's cars are truly beautiful and well resolved, others not so much. If that offends you sensibilities, that is unfortunate.
Nelogic, Great looking car. Makes me want to upgrade from my Vantage. Everyone has different taste ( if not everyone would drive the same car) but I find the Virage the best looking of the V12 series!
Mark, Can you post or send a photo of your Black Vantage ( my 09 is black) with the "painted lenses" I may be interested in doing the same.
