hi again

so is this vantage v8v similar in terms of reliability and daily driving-ness to the 997 S i just sold? i had complete and utter confidence in that car, and other recent porsches and audis i have owned in recent years, maybe i've been lucky, but,, well whatever, been hearing here and there that these are similar...haven't heard 'bulletproof' as i used to with pcars, though... does luck enter into this, cause i'd rathere be lucky than good, any day, just trying to get a 'feel' for the car vicariously, until i can actually get in and drive one, or 2, or

The cars are pretty reliable after the Ford influence. The early V8Vs may not be up to the reliability of the Porsches, which have been produced for decades, but there shouldn't be too many unwelcome surprises.

so i wouldn't see overheating problems on hot days, early ball joint/tie rod ends suspension noises, rattling window guts/dashboard gremlins...weak a/c, seat bolsters going south at 30k km, i know ,of course, that most of this stuff is a function of how the car is treated, so have to take each individual case by case,

My 2007 V8V has 30k miles on it and I haven't had any real issues with it. The A/C isn't the best in the world (I live in a pretty hot and humid area so I use it at full-blast pretty often during the summer). But it isn't all that bad. No overheating issues at all.

I've had a CEL that's been a bit pesky, and I have a thread about it on here. It isn't serious at all, just a bit annoying to see on my gauge cluster. I've had the squeaky rear passenger brake, which is common. And I've had the stalling issue that can happen.

That said, I've been daily-driving my V8V (I took my other car apart haha) for a few months and overall it has been very reliable.
