TPMS idea + Road Force Balanced tires?

So at about 65+ my steering wheel shakes a bit, I asked my SA and he suggested I need a road forced balance on the wheels/tires. The weird part is both sets of my wheels gave the same problem. Anyone face this issue?

Also, can anyone comment on these TPMS, I'm guessing they'll work and only need a programming from the dealer?

Seems unlikely, but among potential causes it's probably the easiest to eliminate. I'd have the fronts currently on the car re-balanced and hope to find that they were off. Coincidentally, I've just had a set of tires road force balanced with great results.

There's another recent thread where I had posted comments abt that product. Essentially I didn't buy it bc the company seemed a bit flaky to me in their responses to queries, they did not seem to accept returns if the product didnt work and, although sifting through their feedback profile I did see people who had given positive feedback after purchasing the Aston compatible product, I never found any account from an end user who installed them and confirmed they worked.

Obviously it would be great to know if this is a viable option though. Pls post back here if you buy and jinstall them.

With large diameter wheels and low profile tires, IMO road force balancing is essential. It all depends on how picky you are about slight vibrations, but I am guessing you wouldn't have posted if you weren't!

If both sets of your wheels did it, then it could be a warped rotor.

I will probably end up trying this, I was quoted only $100 for all 4 done, at a recommended private shop. I just hate taking this car to lowerend places, although sometimes they are the best.

I tried unplugging it, and the message didnt go away. Also, I had no idea the read button would eliminate the message. I will probably do this, as I already have a rititual I do prior to driving.

I will definitely do, I always try to post good findings, you should know ! Are you enjoying the wheels btw?

It does bother me, mainly becuase my ~$35,000 BMW 335i coupe is smoother up to 100 (tested on the track of course).

It doesnt happen when I'm braking, and I just completed my yearly inspectin and the dealer didnt mention anything about it. It actually started happening after I got my tires changed (just normal mount and balance, and I'm guessing the same thing for the new set of wheels as the TPMS were removed, so I doubt they bothered to do a road forced balance).

Buddy, I know you will and unfortunately no, I have not yet installed the wheels. Part of the issue is actually the missing sensors. My mechanic told me that each wheel would have to be rebalanced bc it was missing about 25g per wheel, guess why? Bc of the missing sensors. So when the wheels were originally balanced, of course it included the weight and location of the sensors but then they got stripped from the wheels. If I had good cheap sensors to replace them with I would add them in. I'm debating at the moment just rebalancing and putting them on w no sensors. Pls just let us know what you do with yours would be v helpful.

If your getting a steering vibration from say 60-80kph..the front tires are out of balance, but I'd check all 4 wheels for the rear can make your seats and mirror shake..

If your getting vibration in the +100kph range and it starts to go away when the tire is hot and balance checks out ok, then RFV should be checked and adjusted if needed..none the less balancing should always be checked prior to doing RFV, it's very rare I need to do RFV unless the car is stored for a long period with low tire pressures and flat spots are formed..

BTW: if your shop goes the RFV route, they cannot do this with the tires cold, they need to be hot, so if you see the guy doing this on your car after it has sat for a while...it's point-less and all he's really doing is the balancing to correct the concern

CJ did you ever order these sensors? If so, any success?
