Question 05 db9

Hi everyone, I came across a good deal on a 2005 DB9 6-speed Auto.

What my main concern now is, is DB9 reliable for a daily drive?
I live in a small town in Malaysia where there is no workshop for excotic cars and no service center for Aston Martin. If there is any problem happened to the car, I have to bring the car to Brunei which is 7hours drive from my town.

So is it a good idea to get the DB9 or should I walk away and get a 2009 C63 which cost roughly the same as the AM?

I have an '06 DB9 auto that I use for a daily drive and it's been very reliable. But I have an Aston Martin dealer 10 miles away and another car in the garage if needed. Your situation might make me a bit nervous.

In your situation I would get the Mercedes. 7hrs for service is a LONG way out!

My 05' has been a daily driver for about a year now, added about 12,500 miles of the total 18,000 in that time period. So far no major mechanical issues (replaced old/cracked gear box hoses), just ticky tacky issues (sound system & cabin air flow actuator).
If you buy it, I have a copy of the workshop manual that will help any competent local mechanic (or you) with regular maintenance issues like changing fluids & brakes and I'd be happy to get a copy to you....and anyone else who wants it by the way.
And I absolutely love driving it....as you can tell by the miles.
That being said...not having a back-up vehicle and 7 hours away is a major issue to think about. Good luck whatever you decide!
