Emissions System

My "emission system needs servicing light" came on. Is this serious? Is there a quick fix? Will I damage the engine if I continue to drive? It is operating normally. Im concerned because I have a time trial event tomorrow should I reconsider that?

I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. You can get an OBDII code reader from an auto parts store and check what the code is for. If it is something like an exhaust leak or an O2 failing your mixture could be a little off but it really ought not to give you much trouble, and damage to the engine is extremely unlikely.

Go to a local AutoZone store and they will use one of their OBD II testers, and read out your code for Free.

After a day at Lime Rock the Emission System Check light went out. Maybe it was the 100 octane fuel that fixed the problem. @9.99 per gallon it had better. Best time was 1:12... Slow I know so please don't laugh.
