Hibernation

Dear members,

I'm looking for some advice about storing my V8 Vantage over the winter months. I am planning to put it in the garage (Heated) plugged in to the battery reconditioner. But I will not be able to drive it or start it up for around 3 months. Is there anything else I need to do? Or will it sit there ok for this length of time?

Thanks!

Ben

Mine is stored in a similar situation. Sitting for 3 months should be fine, they recommend changing the oil before letting it sit if you haven't in some time. Other then that, I clean it very well and put in a product in the fuel to ward off issues with the ethanol. (Hate that ethanol) Put a cover on her and its already been put to bed till the spring.

Kicking myself because it is suppost to be 60 - 65 tomorrow for Thanksgiving in Minneapolis. Oh well, I take delivery of an Abarth next week for my new toy.

Hi,

Thanks for the info, it had a full service 4 months ago so hopefully the oil is ok. What product do you put in the fuel?

I'll be celebrating thanksgiving in Zurich (Switz) on Sat, hope you have a good one.

Enjoy the new motor!

A fuel stabilizer wont hurt but for three months I dunno that one is even needed, but better safe if you can. Inflate tires also, and hook battery onto a tender/ctek and put an indoor cover on her.

I was going to do this but this week is 60's in the DC/MD/VA area so I will be driving my DB9 for a wee bit longer...get a few more smiles per gallon before the nice Aston Custom fitted cover goes on her!
