Cost of AMOC membership
I am also located in Maryland. Last year I attended three Aston events in the Maryland/Virginia area. These events and the magazine(s) has made the membership worth the cost. Anyone that can afford an Aston certain can afford AOMC members. It is expensive compared to PCA (which I have been a member for 20+ years) but is still worth it
I agree millsjq but I live in Ocean City and usually too far to participate. I had a tough enough time participating in Porsche drives and stuff snd that was only 1 1/2 hours drive. You are probably 2-3 hours from me?
At least 2-3 hours. I am in the most southern part of southern Maryland. So it takes me about 2 hours to get to the northern VA/DC area, many of the events were 3 hours away but still worth it, nothing is close to me.
Let me know if there's a place where I can find out what's coming up this spring/summer. Maybe I'll join on a whim if I see something of interest as I do really enjoy that stuff. I might just need to make it a long weekend event
...ahh back in the day, fun times...seacrets...the drunk bus...cruising up and down coastal ... I'm in my mid 30's now haven't been down there in a while with any of my cars for any of the crazy weekends probably not the best place to bring my DB9...they love the domestics down there, and big old MT drags lightin' 'em up!
The $333 fee is for a one and a half year membership. This is because the membership runs from January 1 through December 31. So, if you wait until late December when the 2013 membership forms become available the fee will be about 2/3 of this. This number also includes a one time fee for new members. The fee is composed of money that goes to the UK for the world wide club, money for the Heritage Trust (keeps the historical material for the club, including 3 cars), and then some money for the US/Canada club.
As far as lack of events, it depends on where you live. I'm the Midwest Area Rep for the AMOC and we have 10 events per year along with monthly pub nights. And the club has a major event at Lime Rock in June that spans 3 days.
I know it's not inexpensive but it can be worth it if you are in an active area.

this is kind of a stretch for most, but is working for me quite nicely:
AMOC NA members are invited to a celebration in the UK for AM's 100th anniversary. we're getting a group rate at the Dorchester in London, with two room types to choose from. the discount is massive, and that alone will more than cover the cost of AMOC membership.
i've never been to the UK and have always wanted to go, plus it includes tours of the AM facilities in Gaydon and Newport Pagnell and a concours in London, among other things. so... everything is working out great for me. might be the case for others, as well.

If you can swing it, Goodwood is the weekend before the Aston Celebration. If you attended the Festival of Speed (the best event I have EVER attended) and then hopped right into the Centennial events, it would be the trip of a lifetime!
I visited London last year for the first time to see the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The trip included a jaunt over to Gaydon and the factory.

i'll see what i can do but it'll be a stretch. i've got a bachelor party in Vegas, a wedding in Idaho, and then a week in England, all within the span of one month
I understand. However, I must tell you that Goodwood is simply the best event I have ever experienced. Its like the Monterey Historic Races, Pebble Beach Concours, Oshkosh aviation fly-in and a bit of Hollywood mixed in. I am hoping to return this year.
