V12V hood on V8VS
I (and others) have added the N420 diffuser, but my car is not an N420. I really like the aggressive look and IMO it is one of the sole additions Aston did to a perfect initial design that made it better.
Others still have added the N400 sills and the V12V sills....but it they are not N400's nor V12's. Never on this forum have I seen anyone accusing them of being cheesy and trying to make it something it was not. Adding a V12 Vantage badge would confirm the latter.
If you simply like the look, who cares. Stuart even sells a V12 hood for this very reason.

Okay guys here's what this boils down to:
1) V8VS and V12V look IDENTICAL with exception of one thing, the hood. If the hood on a v8vs is changed to a v12 hood there is NO TELLING the cars apart, period. Never mind the N200 or N420 or this that or the other sideskirts, bumpers or whatever, all that is irrelevent to teh specific situatiuon we are discusing between 2 distinct cars on thei sthread those being the V8VS and V12V as they come from the factory and betwen each other and only with respect to outer appearance. We are talking about one thing in particular, what is essentiall THE DEFINING feature.
2) This is complicated even further since the car in this case is de-badged
3) The OP of course can do what he wants, it's his car and his choice. We all get that. But the simple fact that he posted seeking opinion shows that not only is this a controversial modification on his car due to the circumstances he presents, but also that he is showing some degree of awareness and concern about the mod. Which is a respectable action.
I am glad that we can discuss these sorts of things on the forums and each feel comfortable enough with one another to share our unbiased thoughts.

I'd usually stay out of this, being biased and all... but...
At the end of the day, it is your car to do with as you please. Heck, there are things about the RSC Vantage that are not to my taste, but it isn't my car. If it makes you happy, life is too short to worry about what other people think.
Having said that, I personally do see both sides of the coin on this one. However, there's a big difference between putting a V12 hood on a V8 because you like the way it looks, and sticking a 'Turbo' badge on a NA Porsche. I think you'd be hard pressed to make the argument that it was because you liked the look of the badge, whereas the hood.... hey if you prefer that hood, put that hood on it.
We also sell a lot of Lamborghini products, and I and I can tell you there are hundreds, probably thousands of 'regular' Gallardos out there running around with Superleggera side skirts, diffusers, wings etc. and nobody accuses them of trying to pass their car off for a SuperG, they just like the way it looks!

Perhaps we never got accused for being cheesy on this forum is because there isn't any N420 owner here

To OP, it's all about personal preference. I'm sure you can order new V8VS with V12V hood on the build sheet if you like. I'll still be able to tell the difference as V12V has its signature wheels.
If I recall, there is also some other V8V non-S owner on the forum thinking about getting the V8VS/V12V front/rear bumper.
I definitely prefer the plain V8V hood over the V12. I think the extra vents are overdone and unattractive. But then I prefer the original front and rear fascia over the V8VS for the same reasons...
I appreciate all of your opinions and many bring up great points. Obviously as noted at the end of the day it is my choice. Understood. Honestly it simply comes down to looks. Period. If I were able to find an aftermarket hood that appealed to me then I would go this route. I do simply like the aggressive look of the V12. I look at v12v pics all day trying to get a visual of what it would look like added to my car. I am on the fence and ask myself is it too much? I always mod my toys and like to keep it clean yet aggressive. Not too overdone. I do not want my car to look gaudy.
The v8v hood looks great as well.
I guess time will tell
I am also taking the $$ into perspective as I only plan to keep this car for a year or so and move into something new.

good ideas all.. ..
here's a few things I like to to...
- wash and clay the car give a coat of sealen, clean out the interior and vac the carpets etc... then cover in fitted car cover
- inflate tires
- put it on a charger and maintainer for the batter, I use ctek.
- fuel stabilizer maybe depends on how long u store it.
Note: depending on the winter how harse etc... I might not do any of this and just drive it one day a week or so thru the winter just to keep the car lubricarted and fluids moving, this is best, of course keep it clean and dry indoors away from the elements but if you can drive it even a little it's better then fully storing it IMO.
