Can older front/rear fascias be put on newer V8V?

I know I am crazy but I prefer the classic look of the original front/rear fascia to the V8VS/'13V8V updated ones. Too aggressive and not pretty to me. I am going to order a new '13 V8V and Gaydon wants $12K and the dealer wants $6K to put them on for me. My question: Is it a simple swap that a good body shop could do if I found someone who wanted to swap their older bumper for the newer style? Or if I couldn't find someone who wanted to swap where would be the cheapest place to buy new/used bumper covers? Thanks!

It is possible..just find a guy locally with the same color car..shoot him your deal..you pay the swap and he gets the new bumpers..guy/chick would be crazy to pass this up..sure there's ppl on here (hehe see 2 above posts) that would drive you there car to do a swap..it's something that could be done by anybody with basic hand tools, jack stands and some basic knowledge of "Lefty Loosie - Righty Tightie"

I am afraid, it's not an easy swap. I tried to have the new front bumper installed on my 2008 v8v. And it didn't work. The mountings are different. And it's not supported by Gaydon. In fact my dealer had to send back the parts as he was not able to install them.

Dunno what to say..change installer I guess??..the fender wings in front and bonnet are the same for V8V/S of all years, even the rear 1/4 wings..the mounting supports will need to be transfered over with a V8VS front and rear bumper, that is for sure..but this is just unbolt-and-bolt up...there is no custom fitting or custom cutting required (maybe a rivot or 2 to drill out..no big deal, just install the new rivot after)

The V8VS front bumper is actually the same as a V12V..same part..now if your dealer ordered a ROW(Rest of world) front bumper for a Fed car..no this will not work..but if they ordered a Federal bumper for a Federal car..no problem. Actually you could even fit a ROW bumper to a FED car, just I believe there's no side marker lens holes, so you would just have to cut them out and fit the lens

Like I said..anybody with basic tools can make this happen between a V8V and a newer 2013 V8V or V8V2/V12V..only reason Gaydon will charge for this change is because they would have to take the car off the line to fit these parts..time is money and there in this to make money, so gain time is in order for a Works tech to do this install

I agree the easiest is to find someone with the same color car and make the swap. I think you will be able to find someone willing to do it. If you car is black sign me up.

Sombody is gonna get a great deal on this one

Irish the ROW bumpers on the DB Series are the same if I'm not mistaken right, no side markers, which I think looks much better then the US market cars. Although the markers have grown on me over the years, no biggie.

Can somebody post a pic of the front bumpers swap in question here with the Vantage?

Does anyone know what a new V8Vs front bumper goes for? I have a black 08, but I'm a long way from TN. I do like the newer look (I'd actually like something a bit more aggressive) and if this is a simple unbolt, fit, and rebolt, I will probably do it some day.

Just a word of warning to those considering the swap: be aware the standard 2013MY front and rear bumpers have black plastic parts where the V8VS and V12V have real carbon.

Yes Karl, you are correct. The standard MY'13 V8V fascias are identical to the V8VS/V12 ones except instead of the carbon fiber pieces it has dark grey plastic pieces.

Tim,

You are NOT crazy -- you are a man of superb taste! The designers messed with perfection -- the original design is the best!

Bumper fascia swaps?

What color do you need? My car is a 2007, 16,000 mile coupe, heated garage kept Tungsten coupe that's never seen winter/salt. It had a 3M clear bra installed since delivered to the dealer from the UK.

I am not too far, metropolitan Detroit, a few hours up I-75. Have a high quality installer, Classic Design Concepts, willing and capable of performing the swap.

Google maps says trip would be 673 miles, about 10 hours on the Interstates.

I guess I have to change dealer then. He also said a new under tray would be required when installing the new bumper. Anyhow...
