EVO review Am Rapide vs Maserati Gran Turismo
Wonder why things are so cramped in the Rapide but not in the GT, which is the smaller car. Is it the front-mid positioning of the big V12? Is it the VH platform? Seems like if Aston could just find just another 2-3 inches of interior space the car would be a much better four-seater.
I do wonder if the Astons and the Martins talk over dinner about what to do next. I certainly hope they do and when they do, I hope they talk about perfecting the nearly perfect Rapide.
I nearly wept when I first saw one on the road. Then I nearly wept again when it was pointed out by every single automotive type that it pretty much sucks as a 4 seater. That and the fact that with that huge and glorious V12 it still gets spanked by very nice cars that cost much less (Panamera, QuattroP, M5, need I go on).
I love Astons. I love the Rapide. And I love 4 door sedan/coupe cars. Is it really a bridge too far to bring more power, better interior space and maintain all this is so wonderful about this car? It's not like they cut corners to meet a price point...
