Aston Martin in talks for AMG Engines...
what's funny to me is I feel like I have a good chance to walk most of your AM's with my CLS63....V12 against my V8.........V12:480, V8: 550......plus **** loads of TQ.....
I was considering trading towards AM, but would not be able to live with less HP and TQ for twice the price you know?

Anybody talkin' like you needs to just keep on walkin'...you aren't qualified to own an Aston.
So Aston owners should not like to participate in motorsports in their Astons? And if they do, a qualification for ownership is that they should be content in losing, just as long as they were feeling special while doing it?
Cool.

I like all of those cars and HATE being underpowered compared to them, but am willing to accept that for now to get the beauty, handling, exotic status and fun that I derive from my V12V. Plus, I like the materials overall better than the other options.
FWIW, my stable includes an Audi S4 and we are looking at a Mercedes GL350 for my wife. I like German cars very much. Its just that I like the other things about the Aston more.
Oh, by the way, did I mention that I do HATE to have less power than some of the competitive cars?
It doesn't bother me. With over 500 bhp, car is hardly underpowered. While the thought of "more" is always enticing, at some point its diminishing returns in terms of driver experience, which to me is the bottom line.
Mercedes make amazing motors. Very powerful, very soulful and reliable. They are among the most reliable engine manufacturers by failures per hundred (Land Rover, Jaguar, Honda and Lexus/Toyota also on the top ten list) (BMW, Audi, Mini etc on the worst).
But they really don't make that many amazing naturally aspirated motors anymore. At lot of the new stuff is forced induction.
The v8 in the C63 is amazing and as soulful as the Vantage V8. The version of that in the SLS is fantastic and would work in an Aston. But these motors don't seem to be a part of the MB future.
Most of the high horsepower German brands are going forced induction.

More over very few of the road car owners do track days
Owning an Aston is not about it performance my last Honda was a lot quicker than my Astons

It the event of driving not the performance
Here we go again
An Aston is about performance, and straight-line performance is a part of that, but only a part. But an Aston is also about so much more than just the numbers, and at an Aston's level of performance, going even faster is well into the area of diminishing returns.
Rotes, why didn't you buy a GT-R? A Z06? A ZR1? They're faster than your CLS and your 997TT. Maybe because it's not only about the numbers...

That's what I'm afraid of. Most AMGs are blown. Then again, the SLS AMG is NA. It's what, 570 bhp?
Rotes, Astons are about the way they make you feel when owning and driving, they have more presence than just about any car. if you are measuring numbers on a sheet of paper or looking at speed stats Aston is not the right car for you. Either you get what an Aston is about or you don't it's that simple.
Nice CLS63, although it may be faster than my DB9 I have a Mercedes SL55 amg V8 Kompressor in my stable with about 25 grand of addtional perfromance upgrades that I'm selling (don't need to have so many big front engine Cars, gotta make way for something rear-mid engine and Italian) when your ready to go faster in a Benz than whay your CLS63 will offer. Let me know if you're interested. It'll be the best value for the dollar and be faster than any benz out there at over 600+hp/750+ tq at the rear wheels!!! You can litterally run 10.xx's in the 1/4 mile, take it out on the town with the top down, and drive it to/from work every day!

To be fair though, the GT500 would prob smoke any of Rote's cars too...
Looks like the AMG deal is official.
Let's go Aston, I can't wait!
