Are stock Vantage anthracite wheels painted or powdercoated?

This car ('07 Vantage) is much wider than it feels/I'm used to and I always am winding up closer to curbs than expected. Yesterday I did the horror, and curbed my right front wheel while pulling up to a friend's house. I couldn't believe the horrible sounds it made... I've been in a depressed stooper ever since. Gotta get this fixed ASAP. All the wheels were flawless. I want to get it fixed identical to stock... Also, any advice to take it in Portland, OR? I've been pleased with Skip's Wheel Werks before, but that's with polished wheels. Thanks,

David

Stock Aston Wheels are painted not powdercoated. I had the same issue, and mine even started peeling in places.

Do powdercoat, it's much stronger and longer lasting. Think of this as a blessing in disguise, now you can get super glossy silver powdercoat that will never dull like the stock wheel clear coat does.

Skips is the place to go. He has done some pretty remarkable work for us (a local luxury dealer).

BTW, I'm in SW PDX and looking at buying an '07 Vantage. David, if you have spare moment would you mind PM'ing me? I'd love to ask a few questions regarding local service, etc.

Thx,

Jim

powder coated wheels are a problem here in South Africa? we have to have them bead blasted first to open the material up to afford the powder to adhere, the issue is that its never as smooth as a well painted and baked spray job, just detailed my four stock rims and put 5 coats of clear on it, as well as the inside feels as good as the body and a real breeze to clean

My first choice will be powder coat then have the clear coated and baked in a spray booth
