'07 Tip TT Price Assessment Needed!

Gents,

I'm looking at buying a 2007 911 TT. It's a tip with sports chrono that, as best as I know, is completely stock. Apparently the car is pretty mint, though I haven't seen it in person as of yet. It has roughly 33k miles on it and it does have one accident in it's history, but is a one owner car.

I have pictures of the damage ($37,000 worth), but aesthetically not much more is damaged than the driver's side rear quarter panel, the rear bumper is peeled back near that 1/4 panel and that same wheel looks like it's resting on a broken control arm as the rear of it is a few inches closer to the engine than the front of it. There are shots of the car being repaired by one of the highest end body shops in that city and the paint match afterwards looks absolutely perfect. As an aside, I have access to the full body shop estimate/report and a number of airbags went off due to the direction of the hit, which I'm sure increased the value of the estimate significantly.

That aside, the car has no "stories" and appears as mint as can be. I know this is in the sort of mileage that the spark plugs need to be replaced and there may be other items that may or may not have been taken care of, but what I'm hoping to find out is what people would expect to pay for a car like this? Does the accident really effect it's value big time given the **** retentive documentation throughout that process? Any other thoughts/feedback?

Many thanks gents,

Corey

That car has to have considerable frame damage. Even if you get a cheap price, it would be an impossible resale. 50k max, I'd rather have a higher mile accident free car for the same money.

As always with these cars, the majority of the damage is invisible. The car above could have need a new transmission... 37k is significant. <10k is probably nothing to worry about

A bad carfax report, really seems to hit the resale value of these cars hard. I don't know how much you could buy this car for, but I would look for a car with a good history, and then take a hard look at the difference in price. Then remember when you go to sell it, the buyer is going to look at the history also.

Take Kbb fair price and take off 20-25% may be good starting place. Find a good body shop and have them look at the frame. Let them tell you if the car is worth even buyinng.

Based off of the opinions in this thread, that seems all too true. If I was planning on buying one of these cars and keeping it for half a decade, I'd have no shame in buying a properly repaired car like this one... but investment wise it seems like it'd be a relatively poor decision.

Just as an FYI, the current owner is open to offers in the high 50's, but a dealer offered him $55k for it.

That seems to me to be a really high offer from a dealer (or from retail for that matter). As others have said, hard to say exactly what was done to the car or if there are hidden gremlins. A mint one with that sort of miles is probably only about $70k or so with a tip. Doesn't seem worth the headache to me, but it is your call.

I am currently shopping for an 07-08 997 TT and believe it or not I actually want a tip. At roughly 55k I would gladly spend the extra 15k and get a true no stories car. However, I also wouldn't shy away from a car thats had a fender bender if repaired properly. The wheel being canted and the airbags blown on this particular car would scare me though.

Wouldn't consider this car at all. You get what you pay for. I would bet that the rear tires will wear unevenly based on that hit after any repair job. Spent the extra 10-15K and get yourself a better car with no damaging history and blemishes on the carfax or inspection report. That damage is not minor-that is a major hit. Just my 2 cents...

I find it hard to believe any dealer would offer 55k for that car.
That car would be an impossible resale. I would never take that thing to the track.

For a 2007 24,000 miles 997TT tip, how much should it be worth? No accidents, usual essentials included, iPod Denison kit, Tooki Bluetooth.
