Aston's CC100
When performance is not the point of an homage to a winning race car, the company has slipped into 'poser' territory.
The point of a car like this SHOULD be to embrace the spirit of the engineering that lead them to victory, re-imagined for today. It is a chance to show the world that Aston can build a light weight car that can best its competitors, all the while remaining an Aston at its core.
There is no technical reason why this can't be done.
I for one don't want Astons to become "Fashion Accessories" for people to parade around in. They are the worlds most beautiful cars, they are superb road cars, and at the heart of them lies an engine.
Astons are about more than numbers, but they are about performance.

Anyway the point was, it should be faster as it has more power and less weight.

The performance of the CC100 will never be verified, since they will never be tested by any magazine. They will make their rounds as display vehicles and then reside in someone's cherished collection, never to see the light of day except on special occasions. In that respect, performance is irrelevant since no one will ever be comparing them to something else.
These could be 6 sec 0 to 60 cars and no one would care. They are a beauty tribute and nothing more. Face it, the owners can claim anything they want for performance...who's going to dispute it?

Here you guys go again...
Performance, performance, performance. Give it a rest, will ya? This car is already an iconic Aston Martin, and the very well heeled people who are getting these two cars don't give two hoots about performance, as long as it is adequate...and it is.
Y'all need to go buy a GTR, or a Viper, or a Lambo, or an R8, or a 911 Turbo, or a whatever. You don't 'get' Astons and never will.
BTW, not picking on you directly, just using your quote...
Ha, didn't mean to launch another debate! I agree that this car isn't "about" performance, and I agree that Astons are about much more than performance and statistics. That said, I classify them as "performance cars" and performance is not irrelevant. For example, if this car had 100 bhp and did 0-60 in 10 seconds, I think most would agree that the car is a disappointment.
Regardless, I bet the car would be lots of fun to drive, especially on the 'ring for an occasion like this.
BTW, haven't checked for an update on the race yet today but I saw yesterday that the Vantage GT3, based on the V12V, qualified second after the R8 GT3. Go Aston!

Poor performance numbers?
Might be a mistake, even a typo. Maybe written in haste and not checked?
Other AM performance numbers seem logical, i.e., more horsepower or V12 over V8, equals higher top speed...pay more and get more. Are numbers of this nature really checked? I doubt it, probably educated guesses. "What did we say last year, is the increment being claimed believable?"
Somebody in the regular loop, marketing, top management, whoever, might
have been sick, taking a long lunch? Stuff happens.
Since we recognize the discrepancy, AM will recognize it as well. Watch to see if is revised.

They need to make several hundred of these and get them passed so we can drive them in NA. With the amount I have been driving my Aston these days, one without a roof, doors, windshield etc. would be fine.
I wish we got some of the more special models.

It's bite the back of your hand beautiful in some aspects. Love the front end. Love the 3/4 orthogonal view, love the rear end. Hate the doors, the over exagerated hunchbacks and I think the body should have been more exagerated in the front and rear haunches with a tapering kinda narrower waistline (where the doors are).
All this said...I still prefet this:

Sorry to wet blanket this one but I call this a styling miss..but only a little.
I love the hood line, the front end, the front fender/quarter panels.
But what is that rear end? Talk about phoning it in. I wouldn't recognize that if I saw it 1000 more times. No character at all.
Next up, the big, dumb hole in the side. Feels entirely gratuitous and foreign to the rest of the form. Hold your finger over that hole (and the hideous yellow line that draws attention to it's stupid shape) and you will see a beautiful auto body in the most perfect color ever on an Aston.
And I approve of those wheels for all Astons, for ever.
I'm both excited and terrified for the next gen Vantage.
