V8 Vantage Headers Project Completed!
Thank-you! Just wait until we make a set in Inconel 625! That kind of thing makes me weep, not tears of joy but tears of sorrow.... that it has to be put on a car instead of a wall!

Yes, you can bolt these on with the OEM catalysts. I'd say you're still leaving a big chunk of the most inexpensive power on the table if you do that.
One thing that is worth bearing in mind is that we can re-map the exhaust valves to open & close at different points. So for example, you could run with the valves closed, and have them open earlier, or later in order to fine tune the sound to your preferences.

Right now my exh. valves open around 3300 rpms. This is a nice threshold as I can cruise around quietly but still dip into performance fun quickly. Set much higher and I would lose some fun!
ps, thanks so much for your help today, very kind.
Headers only dyno would be interesting. I am concerned that the 200cell CATs will be too loud for my taste. I already have the Vantage S sports exhaust not sure if much increase would be liveable. When I tried a set of sports cats on my 2006 Porsche 997, they were to loud with the Prosche sport exhaust so I sold them.
Also, Will the header collectors bolt to the factory CATS, what fabrication/modification would be necessary?

Stuart, I am with Millsjq on this. I have the sports setup courtesy of the N420 and find the sound level just right. Any more volume would leave longet stints in the car as being a bit overbearing. How much of the gains are contributed by the hi flo cats, thats the question.

The high-flow cats do account for a good chunk of power, and being that they are simpler and easier to install, they are very good bang for the buck. It does add some additional expense, but adding a sports exhaust allows you to add or subtract silencing to your preferences, so we certainly can produce quieter silencers to keep the sound level exactly where each customer wants it (and of course, drop some weight at the same time.) That's not going to be for everyone, but there's definitely plenty of options out there, either through valve mapping or rear muffler setup to get it in the 'sweet spot.'

the 200 cell cats are very livable so long as you don't lay into the throttle. in normal driving, they're not terribly loud at all - just a wonderful, aggressive growl. unless you're getting up toward redline, you shouldn't be bothered by increased loudness. i have 200 cell cats and a sport exhaust and i get compliments constantly on how my car sounds. in case it matters: my exhaust deletes the valves so the sound builds linearly, not much sudden burst from the valves opening, and i prefer it this way!
Hi Guys
Just wanted to point out that it was my car that had those new Velocity manifolds fitted. If you remember, I previously posted a V8 vantage power upgrade thread. Given Stuart has already posted the dyno/power increase info I thought I would just add a little bit of info on how it drives!!
Firstly, the mid-range torque is much better. Basically you can go anywhere in 4th gear now, no need to downshift when overtaking or wanting a burst of torque. Secondly, it does get scary on higher revs, almost to the point that I may be looking to upgrade brakes very soon!! I took my younger brother out in it today who has been with me in my previous car many times (a Porsche 997 C2S) and he said it was definitely felt faster!! Just his opinion so please don't shoot the messenger Porsche fans!
Here is a clip of my brother driving my car. The exhaust sound is immense (this is with the windows up!!)

Another set of our fabulous equal-length V8 Vantage Manifolds left the shop today enroute to a happy customer in Switzerland.

Correct me if I am wrong but your design looks more like a shorty header while the stock ones look more long tube (even though they have a lot of restrictions). Sorry just what it looks like based on the images.
Just a question on the collector, have you guys tested if a prefabbed smooth port one is better that the one you offer? Again based off images it looks like the welds are in there disturbing smooth air flow.
Just wondering based of images.

I know, right? I wish they looked half decent...

By 'pre-fabbed smooth port' I'm assuming you mean a formed collector rather than the fabricated merge collector we use? A formed collector will produce less power than a built merge collector does. This has been tested and confirmed (although not by Velocity.) Formed collectors are cheaper because they are 'prefab' but the airflow does not merge as effectively.
The welds inside the collector barely disturb the airflow at all, certainly whatever tiny disruptions they cause are nowhere near the same level of effect that a prefab formed collector has on the airflow so although more costly and time consuming, the merge collectors we use are a superior part for this application.
